The new Magnetic Trigger Billet Distributors are designed to work with more advanced ignition systems from any manufacturer and are a direct fit to work with PerTronix’s Digital HP Ignition System.

These Magnetic Trigger Billet Distributors have been designed and built using very exact tolerances, so they will be accurate no matter how hard you spin them. PerTronix’s Bill Hoge provides some details on what goes into these new distributors.

“The housings are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum which is lightweight and strong. In addition, we install weights that are precision-stamped and balanced to eliminate erratic timing. Our precision magnetic pickup coil is designed to provide accurate signaling throughout the entire RPM range.”

Since racers need distributors that are reliable through the RPM range, PerTronix made sure the Magnetic Trigger Billet Distributors could perform under the most difficult conditions.

“We added features such as adjustable mechanical advance mechanisms, vacuum lockout provisions and precision magnetic pickup coils and reluctors. These units are built to withstand the rigors of drag racing along with street/strip use. We added components that help reduce timing fluctuations and spark scatter during high RPM use. This is important to ensure a strong accurate spark all the way to red-line,” Hoge explains.
