Rated at 380 horsepower and 360 ft-lbs of torque, the 5.0 liter V8-powered Ford F-150 is a ballsy truck with plenty of work and performance potential. But because Ford has to adhere to strict emissions requirements, they had to choke off the power of their own engine to meet regulatory laws. Once you own the truck though, you’re free to get all aftermarket up in that engine.

One of the first and most cost-effective modifications you can do is adding an Airaid cold air intake system to your 2011 or 2012 F-150. With an install time of about an hour and horsepower gains of up to 17 ponies at the wheels, it’s a no-brainer when it comes to increase your F-150’s performance.

AirRaid’s DirectFit panel clips into the bottom of the factory airbox. Weather-stripping ensures a tight fit against the hood, keeping hot air from the engine out. That allows the huge 1,600 cfm air filter to suck in a ton of cold, fresh air, which every engine loves.
